What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that visited websites send to the user terminal, where they are stored and resent on the next visit. Similar technologies — pixels, web beacons, local storage, session storage, IndexedDB and device identifiers — are treated equivalently by the Italian Authority.

Duration
Cookies can be session (deleted when the browser is closed) or persistent (with defined duration, usually from a few hours to 13 months).
